A chill Shaxi bar in Sideng Square
People watch or find a secluded hideaway
Owned by the laid back Ms. Ji Ying from China's Northeast, Old Street is one of the first Shaxi bars in old town and a great place to hang out. Watch life go by in Sideng Square from one of the large picnic tables out front or find a quiet table inside. The beer is always ice cold here and she makes her own fruit wines here. There are simple snacks but no full menu at Old Street. This funky Shaxi bar also has a secluded place upstairs with seating for 4 at a fur covered tatami. Take off your shoes and sit Japanese style.
NOTE: This room is generally not open to the general public, so tell Ji Ying that Chris 柏昆) the American guy - referred you and see if she'll open it up for you.
FIND IT: 2 shops down from the Xingjiao Temple in Sideng Square.
